Following their previous successful collaborations, Hodinkee and music maestro John Mayer join forces once more, this time including global sensation Ed Sheeran in the mix.
This initiative forms part of a broader venture wherein Mayer, donning the curator’s hat, collaborates with personalities linked through music, design, or horology. Named the “Hodinkee in Residence” series, it debuts with the G-SHOCK Ref. 6900 – Subtract By Sheeran. Two more collaboration pieces will soon join this lineup.
Inspired by Sheeran’s most recent album “Subtract”, the watch design captures its spirit. The timepiece spotlights a vibrant yellow resin case and strap, with Sheeran’s abstract portrait on the dial, reinforcing the album’s authentic vibe. Completing the design is a subtraction symbol at 12 o’clock, reflecting the album’s cover, paired with G-SHOCK’s renowned “Triple Graph” framed in yellow.
Besides its artistic flair, the watch impresses with its tech specs: a 1/100th Stopwatch, Countdown Timer, and Multi-Function Alarm. It’s encased in G-SHOCK’s iconic octagonal tin featuring custom packaging that resonates with the album’s design.
Priced at $185 USD, the G-SHOCK Ref. 6900 – Subtract By Ed Sheeran will be up for grabs on October 18, 11:00 am ET, exclusively at the Hodinkee Shop.
