Lotus has revealed its groundbreaking Hyper-GT model, the Emeya. This four-door electric vehicle (EV) aims to redefine luxury and performance in the EV segment. Announced in New York City by CEO Feng Qingfeng, the Emeya marries Lotus’ storied legacy with advanced performance and state-of-the-art tech, setting a new paradigm for luxury EVs.
Sporting pioneering aerodynamic elements like an active front grille and rear spoiler, the Emeya ensures superior stability and handling. Its electronic air suspension system enhances ride quality automatically. With a high-power dual-motor, the top model hits over 155 mph and achieves 0-60 mph in under 2.8 seconds, positioning it among the world’s fastest electric GTs. Remarkably, the vehicle can gain 93 miles of range in roughly five minutes through a 350kW DC fast charger, and it can charge up to 80% in 18 minutes.
The Emeya underscores sustainability, featuring interiors crafted from repurposed fashion industry fibers, PVD aluminum, and premium materials like Alcantara and Nappa leather. An advanced audio system developed with KEF provides a Dolby Atmos-enabled 3D sound experience.
Introduced at Studio Emeya, NYC, during a three-day event celebrating Lotus’ legacy, the car’s public viewing is on September 9. Reservations are open, with deliveries anticipated in 2024.
